Meanwhile consider entering our annual Flash Fiction Contest which opens for submissions from May 1st through August 15th, 2023.
Third Wednesday publishes short-short stories of no more than 1,000 words (shorter is better). We do not publish memoir, essay, genre or children’s fiction. Send only one story per submission. Keep in mind that we publish only 2-3 fiction pieces per issue.
We prefer a double spaced document with minimal formatting as a .doc or .docx file.
There should be no identifying information within your file so that submissions can be read blindly.
Simultaneous submission are allowed. Please inform us immediately if your work is accepted for publication elsewhere.
Publication Rights:
By submitting work to Third Wednesday, the author grants us First Right to publish the work in print and electronically (on our blog site). Work that is accepted will be published in one print issue of Third Wednesday. All copyrights revert to the author upon publication.
Payment: We are a token paying market, usually $3 for each accepted piece.
