Now in our 13th year of publication, 3rd Wednesday is an independent quarterly journal of literary and visual arts. We read submissions blindly and we publish the best material we can find regardless of the artist’s level of experience. In recent issues we have published luminaries like Ted Kooser, Marge Piercy and Dan Gerber beside many lesser and unknown poets, writers and artists.
3rd Wednesday is a token paying market that publishes both in print and online. Contributors within the U. S. receive one print copy of the magazine. Online editions are free and print editions are available by subscription or at a nominal price through Amazon.com.
We accept submissions of poetry and prose only through our Submittable account. Registration at Submittable is free. Before you submit, please read our submission guidelines by clicking the appropriate menu item above. You’ll find a link to Submittable at the bottom of each page.
Lisa Lenzo announced as the judge for this year’s George Dila Memorial Flash Fiction Contest. Submissons open from May 1st through August 15. Click for details.
When you make a regular submission of poetry you can now choose to enter your poems in a 50/50 single issue contest that guarantees one winner a prize of $50 or 50% of the net contest entry fees (whichever is greater) plus a one year subscription to 3rd Wednesday in print. Support 3rd Wednesday and our contributors by entering your poems for just $3.
